Full Moon Communications & Design opened its doors on July 1, 2005. The editorial/design team of Sharon Martin and Susan Woodson created the bi-monthly "Purdue Alumnus" magazine, as well as brochures and newsletters for various clients.

In 1993, Sharon and Susan began working together at the Purdue Alumni Association, where they created the "Alumnus" magazine and other print materials. Prior to working at PAA, Sharon worked in health-care public relations, while Susan worked for graphic design agencies in New York, Louisiana and Arkansas.

The team launched "HELEN" in May 2006. Taking a grass-roots approach, the magazine has gained a strong following among local women, as well as earned recognition for its colorful and inviting design. HELEN won two Gold ADDY awards, as well as Best of Show for Print at the 2007 ADDY Awards sponsored by the North Central Advertising Federation.

In September 2007, the team launched HELEN on Campus, a magazine for the collegiate women of Purdue. The magazine features the accomplishments and activities of the women students and staff.
